Marie Antoinette returned... dressed for the future
Duran Lantink made his haute couture debut at Jean Paul Gaultier with a collection that transformed the 18th century into a futuristic experiment. Drawing on Marie Antoinette—the ultimate symbol of excess and theatricality—the Dutch designer reimagined the codes of the French court through exaggerated silhouettes, distorted proportions, and surreal humor. Combining upcycled archival materials with sculptural constructions, the collection marked the beginning of a new chapter for the maison: one that doesn't look to the past to repeat it, but to reinvent it.
