Alaïa challenges you to guess where the shoe ends
Named the Invisible Jelly Thong, the piece is part of the Archetypes Summer Fall 2026 collection and pushes three ideas the house distills into a single phrase: line, lightness, transparency.
At first glance, it looks like a sketch floating above the ground. The sole, made of molded transparent PVC, blends into its surroundings, while a thin strap of patent leather tied at the center is almost the only visible element holding the foot in place. The result is a sandal that seems to disappear.
It also arrives at a key moment: jelly shoes are back in luxury, transforming a childhood beach classic into an almost futuristic design object.

Bautizada como Invisible Jelly Thong, la pieza forma parte de la propuesta Archetypes Summer Fall 2026 y lleva al extremo tres ideas que la marca resume en una sola frase: línea, ligereza, transparencia.
A primera vista, parece un boceto flotando sobre el suelo. La suela, de PVC transparente moldeado, se confunde con el entorno, mientras una fina tira de cuero barnizado anudada en el centro es casi el único elemento visible que sujeta el pie.
El resultado es una sandalia que parece desaparecer. Y encaja con un momento clave: las jelly shoes han vuelto al lujo, transformando un clásico infantil de playa en un objeto de diseño casi futurista.
