Hermès builds its own skyline in Williamsburg
To celebrate its arrival in Williamsburg, Hermès hosted an immersive dinner at Powerhouse Arts, where a miniature recreation of the New York skyline stretched across the tables among hundreds of buildings illuminated in shades of purple. Created by the maison and produced by STUDIO BOUM, the installation made the city’s architecture part of the evening’s visual language, while chef Sansho’s menu echoed the colors of a New York sunset.
Designed by RDAI, the new store occupies a two-story building on Berry Street and draws on materials associated with the neighborhood’s industrial past, from exposed brick to gray terrazzo and metal details. More than simply opening another address, Hermès seems to have found its own way of building a version of New York in Williamsburg.

Para celebrar su llegada a Williamsburg, Hermès organizó una cena inmersiva en Powerhouse Arts, donde una reproducción en miniatura del skyline neoyorquino recorrió las mesas entre cientos de edificios iluminados en tonos púrpura. La instalación, creada por la maison y producida por STUDIO BOUM, convirtió la arquitectura de la ciudad en parte del lenguaje de la noche, mientras el menú del chef Sansho retomaba los colores del atardecer neoyorquino.
La nueva tienda, diseñada por RDAI, ocupa un edificio de dos pisos en Berry Street y retoma materiales asociados con el pasado industrial del barrio, desde el ladrillo expuesto hasta el terrazo y los detalles metálicos. Más que abrir otra dirección, Hermès parece haber encontrado en Williamsburg una manera de construir una versión propia de Nueva York.
