SS27 Footwear takes over the look
For Spring/Summer 2027, shoes are no longer a secondary detail. They’re taking center stage. Prada explored hybrids between sandals and curved heels, while Saint Laurent brought opulence to the feet with chains, gemstones, flowers, feathers, and gilded finishes. At Chanel, Matthieu Blazy refreshed the house’s signature two-tone pumps with leopard and tiger prints, playful card-inspired heels, mesh, and embroidered details. Rather than simply complementing the clothes, footwear is becoming a statement in its own right.
The season also took experimentation into utilitarian territory: The Attico pushed gladiator boots up to the thigh, while Miu Miu continued its dialogue between luxury and sport with the New Balance RC150. KNWLS and Lacoste, meanwhile, reworked familiar codes through rounded soles and tennis-ball-inspired heels. Between sculpture, sport, and excess, SS27 proves that the look can start from the feet.
